WITBANK SPURS PREPARATIONS FOR SECOND ROUND - [2017 SEASON]
The team returned on the 10th of this month to resume preparations for the gruelling second round. It has been a fairly balanced showing in the first round if one considers the number of challenges faced prior to kick off of this campaign. The plan was to accumulate +30 points by the end of first round or a top four finish.
We feel we have managed to achieve our midterm goal and now going all out to achieve our main goal which is a PSL status.
Firstly this week was to assess the physical condition of our players and the technical team was satisfied with what they saw. Secondly was to draw up a programme of our preparations will include a number of high profile friendlies and a couple of top four tournaments to sharpen the boys prior to our first game of the second round against Magesi away on the 11th February.
There will be movement of players this window period with the technical team looking at strengthening departments they feel need attention. We currently are having our former keeper who plied his trade for MP Black Aces Bafana Nhlapho training with us. His looking good and expects a decision soon. We are also waiting for a Benin striker plus two midfielders by next week. It has also to be noted that Mogau Tshehla after five years in the team has joined Polokwane City.
We are not going to stop at anything to try and assemble a squad that we feel can compete against the best in this division. We therefore request your support as it has been our only source of inspiration. To our supporters please be assured that management is doing everything to ensure that you are always happy.
Soon the team will be launching its second round slogan which is #YESWECAN!
